CONTEXT
Based on a true story, Menarca (menarche) is named after the first occurrence of menstruation in a girl's life. The film bears this name to highlight what these young women have to face in a society that sees them as women from such an early age, in a country where abortion is still considered a crime.
SYNOPSIS
In our short film, we follow Carol, the pride of her family, who organizes a goodbye dinner for her before she departs abroad for a scholarship. Carol only has a problem: She is pregnant and decided to interrupt her pregnancy before leaving.
