For 20 years, Locomotiva Discos has been the most traditional vinyl store in Brazil. In 2014, platforms like Spotify arrived, and the segment suffered a considerable setback. The brief was to create a campaign that showed how the vinyl sound quality is much better than streaming, mainly because of the compression.
Rather than demonstrating the benefit of the vinyl itself, our idea was to visually convey what mp3 or streaming compression does to our favorite songs. To show that, we selected the most iconic artists and bands at the time and literally compressed them. And it was signed with the concept "keep music uncompressed."
